The Girl Who Does Not Walk
Emma does not walk anywhere.
She sprints, hops, scales rocks, changes direction without warning, and generally behaves like somebody who has no particular interest in moving at standard human speed. Bonnie and Vincent were completely unfazed by this, which suggested we were not dealing with a new development.

We shot this along the West Kowloon waterfront, which gave Emma exactly what she needed: rocks, open grass, and enough space to keep moving without the whole session becoming crowd control.

Rocks, Grass, and Zero Chill
The plan was to start by the water and work our way to the grass.
Emma had other ideas. She wanted rocks. Specifically, she wanted to climb every one that looked even slightly worth climbing, while Vincent followed close behind with the calm energy of a very patient bodyguard in a grey cardigan.

With kids like this, you stop trying to pose too much and just keep shooting. Emma’s expression changed every half-second. Mid-laugh, suddenly serious, then back to full sprint before anyone had properly caught up.

The Grass Chapter
We eventually made it to the lawn, and that was where the whole thing relaxed a bit.
The three of them walking hand-in-hand, Emma jumping between her parents, then everyone ending up on the grass. Better rhythm. Less strategy. More actual family life.

When the three of them lay down on the grass, that was Emma’s version of relaxing, which mostly involved climbing on Vincent and trying to wrestle him.

Bonnie and Vincent made the useful choice and let the session stay loose. No panic, no over-correcting, no trying to turn Emma into a quieter child for the sake of the gallery.
The Outfit Switch
Halfway through, they changed into a second set. Bonnie and Vincent in matching heart sweaters, Emma in emerald green.
Less coordinated, more personality. Emma immediately looked even more like herself.

The Last Burst
The last frames were my favourites.
Vincent crouching down for a huge grin with Emma. Then Emma on his back by the waterfront. Bonnie wrapping her arms around both of them while everybody laughed too hard to stay neat.
That felt about right.

West Kowloon did its part, but Emma was clearly the main event.
